HA!
Disaster Averted. Those too tiny stitches - I found I was able to pick out and break with the tip of a pin. It took the length of a movie but I got it done!! I couldn't trash the quilt as someone suggested as the blue/pink hearts were from my grandma's stash that I rescued. A couple of the hearts she'd hand appliqued around and there was a heart 1/2 finished that I did the other 1/2. Fixing the issue was the only way. I think I'm going to put this quilt back in storage for my brother's first child - whenever he gets around to having one. He's the last of her grandchildren (15 yrs younger than me) and this I think is the last of the items that were usable from her stash.

I'm glad you got the "picking" done. I did recall that was a quilt that had a lot of sentimental value for you....so I'm glad you have a Plan B now for it.
ReplyDeleteGreat plan B! You never know, by the time it's time to give it away you may revisit it with more confidence :) Hope you're feeling better too :)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness! I would have been a nervous wreck! Good for you on getting it done! I think your idea to save it is a wonderful one!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for getting it picked out. Sounds like a treasure, I might have a hard time giving those blocks away. Love the new header.
