I've one quilt left to make before Christmas. I've had all these ideas for my brother and keep scrapping them. He's just started college and is interested in wind energy - so I'd thought I'd do a cool windmill pattern for him. I'd also thought about Grandpa's buzzsaw as we were really connected to our Granddad- but it just didn't fit. Then I saw a magazine with one called PepperMill but it requires nearly 14 different fabrics in 2 shades. I prefer ones that have only a few fabrics but I realized I really liked the black and tan. Anyone have suggestions on a begginers pattern related to wind energy??
Oh, my.....I don't have any ideas, but I'll be interested to see what you decide and to watch your progress with it. I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable and talented than I will have a good idea for you!
ReplyDeleteI thought this one would work, check it out.

I saw a great quilt in Black and whites, with cream background fabrics at a show last week. Soo good I'Mm making one for me! Do you have a copy of Scrap Basket Surpirses by Kim Bracket? The pattern is called Snail Takes a Detour, made from 2 1/2" strips, looked fab. Loads of movement in it, not what you'd think of a snail trial.
